I live in a small town in central Illinois with my fabulous husband and four kids. My favorite color is pink and my favorite numbers are five and seven. I love my camera, punctuality, cartoons, chocolate ice cream, riding my bike, and Project Runway. I hate circles, shopping, naps, Danielle Steel novels, cleaning, cooking, coffee, hot weather, waking up early, and the television series House. I also hate office buildings, and cough syrup. Every morning I drink a cup of green tea, I have a hard time falling asleep at night, I could eat spaghetti every day, my favorite movie is Lord of the Rings, I have a dry sense of humor, and I'm afraid of heights.

Xavier Dolan (born March 20, 1989), sometimes credited as Xavier Dolan-Tadros, is a Canadian actor and filmmaker. Formerly a child actor in films such as J'en suis!, Le Marchand de sable and La Forteresse suspendue and television series such as Omertà, la loi du silence, he attracted international attention when his first film as a director and screenwriter, J'ai tué ma mère, won three awards from the Director's Fortnight program at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.[1]
J'ai tué ma mère has been sold to more than 20 territories, including a U.S. deal with Here! Films. It was released theatrically in the U.S. in spring 2010.[2]
After J'ai tué ma mère he directed his second feature film Les Amours Imaginaires (Heartbeats), which was financed privately.[2] It follows the infatuation of two friends with the same mysterious young man. Inevitably, their friendship suffers. It premiered in the Un Certain Regard category at the 63e Festival de Cannes in May 2010, to standing ovation,[3] and won the top prize of the Official Competition at the Sydney Film Festival in June.
Dolan says that he is planning his third film called Laurence Anyways, about a transsexual,[4] with the script already ready.[5] Pending financing of the movie project, production is planned to start in fall of 2010.[6] In the fall of 2010, he directed a video for the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) Holy Mountain web project.[7]
As of September 2009, the Québec-specific French-language dubbed version of the animated series South Park features Dolan as the voice of Stan.[8] His voice work also included narrating the NFB's 2010 animated documentary Lipsett Diaries.[9]
Dolan is gay,[10] and has described J'ai tué ma mère as being semi-autobiographical. He is the son of Quebec actor Manuel Tadros.
