Maia Kobabe graduated from Dominican University of California in May 2011, with a BFA in Studio Art (Drawing Emphasis) and a minor in Art History. Currently she is working on publishing an illustrated alphabet book, finishing a young adult novel, and beginning a career in illustration. Eventually, she would like to go back to school to earn an MFA in illustration. Maia Kobabe is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), and of Iota Press, and old fashioned letterpress print co-op in Sonoma County.
